Our practice is committed to providing you with safe, gentle, and high-quality periodontal and implant care. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.
Your first visit is all about you: your comfort, your happiness, and your health
During your first visit, you will meet with Dr. Pitman or Dr. Ntounis in our consultation room to review your medical and dental history. Next the dental assistant will take you to the treatment room, where your vitals are recorded. After a thorough oral evaluation and clinical photographs, your periodontist will review the findings with you and educate you about all conditions that have been diagnosed.
Afterwards, he/she will formulate a treatment plan, and answer any questions you may have. If needed, your periodontist will meet with your general dentist to coordinate a comprehensive plan for you, and you will be scheduled for a Treatment Conference, a few weeks after your first visit.
Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment
- Your identification card
- Your insurance card, if applicable
- Your completed paperwork, if you did not fill them out online
Seeing a periodontist is an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!
The American Academy of Periodontics recommends a comprehensive periodontal evaluation on an annual basis, and more frequently if you have history of periodontal disease.
We understand you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit our office, please remember your appointment can last between 60 and 90 minutes. Call our office at 540-373-3066 if you have questions about how long your visit will last.
